The eight-week Chinese language summer camp (June 19th to August 10th) is held successfully by the Confucius Institute at NJCU. More than40 eight-grade students participated in this program. The main theme of the program is music. This summer camp gives participants theopportunity to practice speaking mandarin, writing the Chinese radicals and characters, and singing Chinese songs. Students show great interestsin the cultural activities, such as ink-painting, paper-cutting, and Chinese festivals. According to their participation and performance in the Chinese class, two most excellent and most improved students are given awards by the Confucius Institute.
By the end of the program, they can talk a little and make short introduction about themselves. They say they are very excited and happy to be part of this program and they want to learn more about the country, the people, the language and the culture.
